{Paper Culture} A Review

I was recently given the opportunity to review personalized stationary from Paper Culture.  The timing couldn't be any better.  I was out of thank you cards and Paper Culture's modern, fun designs fit right in with my style.  The only problem I had was choosing which design I liked best out of the 1000's of designs on their site! Ultimately, I chose the 6" x 4.3" cards with the Classic Dandelion design.  This design came in three different colors and I chose Celedon, a very pretty green.

Look, a personalized thank you note!
Front and Back of cards

I was impressed to learn that Paper Culture plants a tree for every order you place.  At the end of your ordering process, you are given an opportunity to pick an image and to dedicate the tree's planting to someone.  Paper Culture has planted over 300,000 trees!  And, Paper Culture uses 100% post-consumer recycled paper.  What does that mean?  Not one tree is cut down in order to make your stationary or cards.

Now, just because they use recycled paper doesn't mean you are not getting a quality product.  Paper Culture uses 130 lb paper for their products, all their products feature free rounded corners, they have 1000's of modern designs and they back up all their products with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.  Now if all that isn't enough, they also have a service where you pay for the stamp and they ship your cards (stamp, address and mail) for FREE.  I don't know of any other stationary company who does that.

So, what are you waiting for?  Head over to Paper Culture's Thank You Cards, Note Cards and Stationary page and get some for yourself.

{MyMemories Suite v4 - 2013 Gold Award Winner} And A Giveaway!

I recently became an affiliate of MyMemories and was provided a copy of their MyMemories Suite v4 software to play with.  It is so much fun.  I have just recently gotten into digital scrapbooking because I just can't seem to find the time to drag out all my supplies and get pages done before my 3 yr old discovers what I am doing. With the MyMemories Suite, everything is on my computer.

MyMemories Suite v4 was recently named a 2013 Gold Award Winner by Top Ten Reviews.  Check out the video:

I like to use digital scrapbooking software for projects other than scrapbooking too. Every week I like to make a cute printable of my menu plan.  Here's what I did using the MyMemories Suite software:

I'm still learning, but the software is very easy to understand and it comes with tons of papers, embellishments and fonts.  Here's a quick page I made of my son:

I can see spending a lot of fun time playing and creating with MyMemories Suite.

{Menu Plan Monday} 4/22/13

Hello, hello!  How was your weekend?  Mine wasn't long enough.  Well, here is this week's menu.

Monday:  Bacon Pot Roast via Frugal Antics of a Harried Homemaker.  Yeah, you read that right.  Bacon.  Mmmm.  I'll let you know how this one turns out.  I mean, it has to be good.  It has bacon.  Served with mashed yukon gold potatoes and carrots.

Tuesday:  Southern Fried Tilapia served with a side salad and baked french fries.  I don't use a recipe, I just cut the tilapia up in chunks and coat it in a homemade flour/cornmeal mixture and pan fry it.  I'll try to remember to write down the recipe as I make it.

Wednesday:  Taco Salad.  Romaine lettuce, cheddar cheese, black olives, tomatoes, green oinions, sour cream, roasted corn and seasoned ground beef.

Thursday:  Cheesy scrambled eggs, blueberry pancakes and bacon.

Friday:  Poppy Seed Chicken via Sew Caroline, served with rice and broccoli.  I am gonna try to make this a "clean" recipe by making my own cream of chicken soup and crackers.  This recipe is still full of fat, so even though we love, love, love it, I shouldn't make it very often.

My sister is a single mom of three boys.  She works full-time and takes care of her home by herself.  She always has time for my son.  If I am in need and she has it within her ability to help, she does, and without thought of being repaid.  There are a lot of moms like her out there.  I'm sure you can think of one or two right now.  Maybe you are one.

{Dandelion Greens Smoothie Recipe}

I wanted to share a easy smoothie recipe I made this morning using some dandelion greens I got the other day at Whole Foods.

Ingredients:
2 cups whole goat's milk (you can use any liquid you like)
Frozen mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries)
scoop of protein powder
1 cup of dandelion greens, torn or chopped
1 whole banana
drizzle of honey

Blend until smooth.  I would have added baby spinach, but I was out.  The dandelion greens are bitter, so next time I would do 1/2 dandelion and 1/2 spinach.  But it wasn't so bitter I couldn't drink it.  Now that is some nutrition in a glass.

Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of the finished product.

What is your favorite smoothie recipe?

Try-It Tuesday {Baby Washcloths}

A couple of my son's teachers at his daycare are pregnant and I wanted to give the ladies something personal, so I used the super easy tutorial by Brandy at Gluesticks. You can find her tutorial here.

So the idea is to take flannel and sew it onto a washcloth creating a nice soft cloth for baby.  I am not much of a seamstress, but I think they turned out ok.  The ladies happen to know what they are having, so I got to make a boy set and a girl set.

I tied a ribbon around them and added baby wash.  It's a really cute idea and they are super quick to make.

Wednesday:  Cobb Salad Sandwich via Two Peas and Their Pod, served with chips.

Thursday:  Hamburger Vegetable Soup via my daddy.  Brown some ground beef, add tomatoes with juice, chicken or beef stock, whatever veggies you have on hand, and whatever spices you like.  This is kinda a clean out the fridge or freezer soup.  I usually always add green beans, carrots, potatoes and onions.  Then I add whatever may be in the fridge, cabinet or freezer.  You can shop up zucchini, add frozen corn.  There is no limit.  I almost always use italian spices, but I have given it a mexican twist in the past.  Yum!

Friday:  California Eggs Benedict via The Curvy Carrot.

So, what do you think?  See any recipes you would like to try.  Have a favorite I need to know about?  Please share it in the comments.

{Menu Plan Monday} 4/8/13

Hello everyone!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  It finally feels like Spring in my part of Arkansas and I am mostly recovered from the strep, ear infection and chest cold I had last week.  (I kinda felt like I was gonna die, not fun.)  Anyway, on to better things:  this week's menu.

Monday (meatless):  Poached Eggs with Spinach, Mushrooms and Walnuts via Cooking Light (via My Recipes).

Tuesday:  Skillet Ground Beef Stroganoff via Elly Says Opa.  Ok, I know, I have made this recipe several times, but it is truly yummy and a family favorite and the leftovers are AWESOME for lunch the next day.

Wednesday:  Skillet Fillets (Tilapia) with Cilantro Butter via Cooking Light (My Recipes).

Friday:  breakfast for dinner.  I'm thinking about making the Lemony Blueberry Waffles via The Gracious Pantry.

I am planning on trying another recipe for snack crackers I found in a magazine I got this weekend.  They are supposed to be like "Cheez-Its."  The recipe I used last week was so yummy!  I was going to post the results on Try-It Tuesday, but had a rough week.  Maybe I'll post it tomorrow along with the Happy Crackers recipe I tried today.

Thank you so much for stopping by,
